The soda fired ceramic sculptures in this show were made while I was in residency at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, MT.

In this work I use sewing and stitching as a metaphor for how lives are seamed together and how we are all bound to our particular stories of people and place. I fold, bend, alter and stitch together both clay and memory.

Giant sewing needles become compasses and passageways, my fingerprint grows to become a map, layers and seams of clay become the landscape that holds my past.
